Similar to our Carbon Rifleman, the Carbon Hunter combines the precision of the Defiance Action, Proof Carbon Fiber barrel, with the light weight, snag-free design of the Manners Composite Stocks Pro Hunter (MCS-PH). The Defiance Action features a one-piece bolt construction with deep spiral flutes and very open “Sheep Hunter” loading and ejection port. The port design reduces action weight and makes it very easy to load cartridges into the rifle, even in gloved hands.
The MCS-PH is engineered to provide a strong, lightweight stock weighing in at 25-26 ounces. The MCS-PH has many hybrid features, including: comfortable high cheek weld for long range hunting optics; flat bottom for extreme stability when shooting in bags; slight inward taper on comb to add comfort for high-recoil calibers; and dual ambidextrous thumb shelves. The Zero Exposure Bi-pod Rail works with both Harris and pic rail mounted bi-pods. The Flush Arca Mount is recessed to enable a flush position, and hard-mounted to internal blocks to make it rock solid and dependable for years to come!
We precisely thread and chamber a Proof Research carbon fiber barrel in a Sendero Light contour. All metal is coated in our tough Cerakote finish in the color you choose. Finally, we apply our one-to-one aluminum pillar and glass bedding system to the action. Our bedding system does not utilize a generic bedding block or chassis. Instead, we machine individual bedding pillars that match the radius of your action and full-length glass bed the receiver and recoil lug for a perfectly mated fit between your stock and action. We then bed the bottom metal so it is exactly square to the receiver. We do your barrel break-in and test accuracy with factory ammunition that is readily available.
