Dangerous Game Rifle
Reliable feeding, firing and ejection are the most important features of any dangerous game rifle. This makes the action the most important component of a trustworthy DGR. It is for this reason that we have chosen the Dakota 76 control feed action as the platform for our Dangerous Game Rifles. The Dakota 76 action has been a proven design for over 30 years. The machining quality is outstanding. The model 70-style three-position safety allows for a safe position with the bolt locked as well as a middle position that permits feeding while on safety. It is, of course, a control feed action in every sense of the word.
Extreme accuracy and consistent point of impact are also important. We combine this action with the best match grade barrels and the Accurizing techniques we are famous for. Every rifle is aluminum pillar and glass bedded into a McMillan Supergrade stock with Pachmayr Decelerator recoil pad. By adjusting the fill density of the McMillan stock we can achieve the best weight and balance for a given caliber. We perform extensive testing of feeding, function, and accuracy. Every rifle is guaranteed to shoot three-shot, sub-inch groups at 100 yards with factory ammunition.
Open sights are standard on our DGR. We use and professionally install a NECG barrel band front sight, express rear sight, and Talley barrel band sling stud. The sights are custom fitted to each rifle and fully regulated and tested for a 50 yard point of impact.
Talley bases are anchored with 8X40 torx screws and Talley Quick Detach scope rings are included. We prefer to mount your scope and test for proper function and adjustment range. For added durability and weather resistance, all metal surfaces, excluding the bore, are coated in a tough, rust proof, matte black Cerakote finish.
This package combines our highest quality craftsmanship with the best components in the world and results in an absolutely reliable, durable, and extremely accurate Dangerous Game Rifle.
Scope sold separately.
We have added a Safari rifle to the Harvester line up. This rifle is based on the Winchester 70 Safari Express action and barrel. We love the control feed action of the Model 70 Winchester and the barrel quality is excellent on these rifles. We upgrade the open sights with NECG express rear and barrel band front sight. These sights are screwed and soldered into place and are regulated and tested for a 50 yard point of impact. A barrel band sling stud is included. The receiver is drilled and tapped for heavy duty 8X40 base screws. Talley bases and QD rings are included in the package. All metal is coated in a tough, rust-proof Graphite Black Cerakote finish. The rifle is fully Accurized into a McMillan Winchester Safari stock with Sunnyhill drop box trigger guard assembly, or into a McMillan Winchester Supergrade stock with regular Sunnyhill bottom metal. The drop box version will hold four rounds in the magazine and will weigh 10 pounds. The non-drop box version will hold three rounds in the magazine and will weigh 9.0 pounds. We recommend the lighter rifle for bear and the heavier rifle for Africa, especially in 416 Rem. Mag. We will vigorously test feeding, firing, and extraction to insure reliable function. The Harvester Safari is guaranteed to shoot 3-shot, sub-inch groups at 100 yards with recommended factory ammunition. Available calibers: 375 H&H, 416 Rem. Mag., and 458 Win. Mag.
